Abstract

Education is everyone's right, guaranteed by the Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil. People with disabilities have the right to an education that is inclusive, and this brings several challenges for schools and education professionals. In order to overcome these challenges and enhance the aspects involving inclusive education, Specialized Educational Assistance (AEE) was implemented in public schools, carried out outside the regular classroom, as a complement and/or supplement to the education of students. with disabilities. This research aimed to analyze the contributions of Specialized Educational Assistance to the development of skills and competencies of students with disabilities. Research with a qualitative approach, of an exploratory nature, and bibliographic collection procedures was carried out. To this end, the discussion took place through a bibliographic survey about AEE. As a result, it was possible to demonstrate that the services and resources offered by special education are seen as promoters of school inclusion. Specialized services and supports must permeate regular education, as a way of improving the development of skills and competencies of students with disabilities.
