Abstract

This study addresses innovations in maternal health and technological advances in obstetric care, highlighting their importance in improving perinatal care. The literature review reveals the crucial role of emerging technologies, such as remote monitoring, artificial intelligence and mobile applications, in promoting maternal and newborn health. These innovations enable continuous and personalized surveillance of pregnancy, birth and postpartum, facilitating early detection of complications and timely intervention. However, challenges remain related to accessibility, equity and effective implementation of these technologies. It is critical to ensure that all women have equal access to these innovations, regardless of their geographic location or socioeconomic status. Multidisciplinary collaboration between healthcare professionals, researchers and policymakers is essential to drive the development and implementation of innovations in maternal health. Ongoing research and evaluation are needed to inform clinical practice and policymaking, ensuring that these innovations are evidence-based and have a positive and sustainable impact on the health of mothers and newborns.
