The present study aims to analyze whether the phonetic-phonological phenomena of suppression (apheresis, syncope of the dental /d/ in the verbal forms /nd/ and apocope of /r/ in verbs in the infinitive) recurrent in the speech of a group of 20 teenagers are also productive in their written language. To this end, a survey of these phonetic-phonological processes in the informants' speech and writing was carried out. Firstly, by recording a fact narrated orally; then, the same survey was carried out in a text reported in written form. After the two surveys, the data were quantified, so that it was possible to identify the recurrence of these processes in both modalities (oral and written). The study was analyzed based on the theoretical assumptions of Labov (2008), Cagliari (2008), Marcuschi (2001), Mollica (2003), Hora;Aquino (2012), among other scholars who address the orality and writing of the Portuguese language , with the aim of identifying whether such processes, so frequent in speech, in the most varied contexts, are also present in written language.
