STUDY AND GUIDELINES ON THE RATIONAL USE OF MEDICINES FOR THE POPULATION OF ITACOATIARA-AM

Medicines are an important therapeutic tool in the hands of health professionals, which contribute significantly to improving the quality and expectations of the population (laporte; tognoni,1993). Information about medicines has not been used efficiently, nor has it been disseminated to society quickly enough and adequately to reach all segments of the population. The objective of this work is to present practices on the correct use of medicines to the community. During the study, interviews were carried out with 50 hypertensive and diabetic patients in basic health units in Itacoatiara-Am. Among those interviewed, 70% were women aged between 33 and 81 and 30% were men aged between 33 90 years ago, during the study it was noticed that a significantly high number self-medicate, and that there is a great need for information not only about the correct use of medicines, but also about the pathology.
