THE CRIMINAL PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS’ RIGHTS: A LOOK AT THE ECA

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the criminal protection of children and adolescents, with the main focus on Law No. 8,069/1990, also known as ECA. Studying the rights and guarantees provided by this legislation that aims to guarantee fundamental rights and full protection for Brazilian minors, protecting them and holding them responsible for their actions in an appropriate manner, always prioritizing youth well-being. The bibliographical research methodology was used, obtaining a new perspective on the challenges for implementing the criminal protection of the rights of children and adolescents in relation to the ECA.
