As a contemporary technological tool, television still plays a relevant and strategic role in today's society, it is present in various social spaces. In children's experiences, television still occupies a place of influence in their formation of social identity, despite competition with tablets, smartphones and other technological tools. The general objective of this study is to discuss the work of teachers through the challenges of the presence of television in the experiences of young children. This study is characterized as a bibliographical research. The relevance of this study lies in the role television still plays in contemporary society, despite sociocultural changes and its rivalries with other information and communication technology tools. Teachers' work is challenging and complex, demanding playful teaching strategies that strengthen criticality, emancipation and autonomy in young children, to provide a condition for them not to be totally exploited and manipulated by children's television content and advertising.
