Teaching ecology and environmental education in primary and secondary education in the common curricular base (BNCC) and in publishers' textbooks. The objective of this work was to carry out a documentary analysis, analyzing the skills of the base with the contents proposed in the books. The lack of subject-oriented skills impoverishes student learning, leaving gaps that should not exist. Teachers teaching in areas that are not theirs and not having tools that can provide the necessary support to make it less of a problem, which is already a big problem.
