Abstract

The present work aims, throughout its contents, to promote an analysis of the work auto da compadecida, both in the literary and cinematographic spheres. It expresses how the backlands and the life of the northeastern people are presented as a basis throughout the work, as well as the main differences between the book and the film. Regarding the general objective of the research to analyze the auto da compadecida in the literary and cinematic vision, as for the specific objectives, these are: to present the main characteristics of the Northeast; highlight the lives of authors Ariano Suassuna; evaluate the main adaptations made to the compadecida record in literature and cinema. In the methodological field, a literature review was carried out, covering the main concepts and analyzes of renowned authors in the film development process, aligning the literary field with the images or adaptations made for the cinematographic environment.
