UNDERSTAND HOW PODS AND ELECTRONIC CIGARETTES ARE RELATED TO THE APPEARANCE OF SYMPTOMS PRESENT AT EVALI IN MEDICAL STUDENTS AT THE FAG INSTITUTE

Abstract

Despite the ban on the sale of pods and electronic cigarettes by ANVISA since 2009, their sale is still promoted in several tobacco stores and specialized stores, allowing the intense perpetuation of their consumption, especially by young people. The use of Electronic Smoking Devices (EDP) is recognized today for its prohibition and illegal trade, very similar to what cigarettes were until the development of their health consequences, promoting the control and perpetuation of knowledge of diseases related to their consumption. Thus, the occurrence of EVALI (E-cigarette or Vaping product use-Associated Lung Injury) makes us question whether the use of these compounds is safe and whether we are not only exposed to the development of diseases that are highly harmful to our health, and may not be perceived immediately, therefore appearing silently.
