Abstract

Psychology is currently in constant evolution, and its intention is to investigate human behavior, as well as the mental processes that influence this behavior. In the school field, psychology must understand the processes of human development and of learning in educational contexts, taking into account the social, cultural and political dimensions that involve them. Therefore, the general objective of this work is to analyze how school psychology can contribute to optimizing the quality of life of Youth and Adult Education (EJA) students at a public school in the city of Porto Velho, in Rondônia. For the preparation of this study, it was carried out an applied, descriptive, qualitative and field research with students in the 8th year of elementary school at EJA (morning shift). The activities with these students were carried out based on the problems analyzed during the period of observation and interaction with them in the conversation circles that took place outside the classroom, during recess and at the time of entry and exit. With this, it was concluded that the objective of the study was achieved, showing that, with the help of the psychology intern, the students were able to apply the guidance provided to them in practice, making their changes noticeable. Furthermore, the school environment in which they were inserted became more welcoming.
