Songs are didactic resources that enrich learning situations, when they are worked appropriately, according to the objectives of the teaching-learning process in the elementary school. In learning situations, games set to music can be developed by addressing different themes from the children's social context. The general objective of this study is to discuss the application of music-based games in learning situations in the elementary school. This study is characterized as a bibliographical research. The relevance of this study encompasses the learning demands of children in the early grades, which involves adding games and music to learning situations in the school environment. Games set to music constitute an important didactic-pedagogical approach in children's learning situations in early elementary schools, with the potential to foster different abilities, skills and competencies in children.
