Abstract

This article proposes an analysis of the role of contemporary literature in the context of sociocultural representation, focusing on LGBTQIA+ narratives in school spaces. The research on the topic was developed through technical reports, books, articles and scientific magazines, to better support and support the discussion on the subject. In view of this, it was noted that contemporary literature represents an invaluable instrument of social transformation, which plays an irreplaceable role in deconstructing the historical silencing of LGBTQIA+ narratives and promoting their representation. Therefore, it is essential that educators and educational institutions recognize and value the revolutionary potential of these literatures and, therefore, incorporate it effectively and proactively into their pedagogical practices, not only to broaden students' perspectives, but also to build a more inclusive, tolerant and fair society.
