The advent of law no. ° 14,443/2022 brought significant changes related to female reproductive rights. However, the State continued to limit women's free access to voluntary sterilization surgery, maintaining the requirements established in the previous rule (Law No. 9263/1996). This limitation directly interferes in the field of private autonomy where actions are not freely decided, and therefore mandatory criteria are imposed to be followed cumulatively or alternatively. The objective, therefore, is to analyze whether the changes brought about by law no. ° 14,443/2022 effectively guarantee women's bodily and reproductive autonomy regarding the practice of family planning. Thus, the theme is important given the social and cultural changes taking place in society and the way in which women have been gaining rights and space in the face of patriarchal culture. The method used in the research was bibliographic through research in scientific articles, theses, monographs, legislation and jurisprudence, with a deductive approach method that allowed information to be sought about the problem, obtaining the expected results regarding the legislative advancement arising with the new law to provide access to surgery, still requiring improvements so that women can enjoy their rights already achieved.
