Abstract

Dealing with the male public represents a constantly growing challenge for healthcare teams, driven by the conditions in which men find themselves and the adversities they face when looking after their own health. The study aimed to highlight the role of nurses in intensifying actions aimed at promoting men's health in Primary Health Care; identify factors associated with male demand in Primary Care; discuss the main actions of nurses to promote men's health in PHC; list nurses' strategies and behaviors to intensify actions aimed at men's health. This is a bibliographic review study of the literature, based on academic and scientific research. The selected articles are arranged between the years 2007 and 2022. Men are more exposed to certain pathologies and benefit less from health care, therefore, it is necessary to have qualifications regarding the implementation of strategies aimed at PNAISH. It is noteworthy that nurses play a fundamental role in humanization, promotion and prevention. In the meantime, the creation of PNAISH was not enough to include this public in the necessary basic care, so qualifications and strategies for nurses' actions in intensifying actions aimed at promoting men's health in PHC are proposed.
