Abstract

The general objective of this work is to investigate whether the use of an electronic ankle bracelet after the custody hearing can cause any harm, analyzing whether there are discriminatory aspects, as well as understanding the impacts on the user's life. As a methodology, descriptive research was carried out, with a qualitative approach, where the bibliographical survey was carried out over a period of time, between the periods of 2017 and 2023. This work brought a very significant basis, which was to reflect on the use of ankle bracelets. electronically, in order to better understand the entire custody hearing process, as well as understand the discriminatory aspects associated with this measure. Upon concluding this study, we came to the understanding that it is necessary to promote debates and the exchange of knowledge about the limits of electronic ankle bracelets, so that we can then seek alternatives that allow the social reintegration of individuals who use electronic ankle bracelets, without perpetuating stigmas and discriminations.
