Abstract

Domestic violence and its forms have existed since ancient times, depending on each era. At that time, domestic violence was a reflection of an unfulfilled man, who was considered in society as a failure and, therefore, arrived at home and took out all this anguish on his wife and children, practically passing the responsibility for the lack of competence onto these and punishing them with aggression. According to that time and until recently, some legal scholars understood that aggressions by a man against his partner, when arising from love and passion, considered crimes of passion, should not be punished. The profile of these violent or aggressive men includes low self-esteem, high vulnerability to humiliation, the frequent feeling of impotence, the absence of a life plan, the cultural factor, the inability to control self-control and poor impulse control, the situation of parental rejection and have suffered aggression in the past or have a violent family history. The types of violence that these aggressors practice against their victims include: physical, psychological, property and sexual violence. There may be other types of violence, but these remain hidden within the victims, often for fear of reprisals and threats from the aggressor. The Women's Defense Police Station was created, created to assist and assist women victims of domestic and family violence, as well as other types of crimes against women, with the aim of not only punishing the aggressor, but also supporting the victims. and assert your rights. With the creation of Law No. 11,340/06, the types of assistance for women victims of domestic and family violence, the forms of assistance by the police authority, and urgent protective measures, among others, were created.
