The purpose of this work is to critically analyze the importance of the child's right to be heard in court based on article 8. of the American Convention on Human Rights. The right of children and adolescents to be heard in court is essential to obtain more assertive judgments, but in many cases, they do not have the opportunity to speak out in a process that will decide their future. Hearing the child is extremely important to help make the most effective decision that is closest to the true interests of the minor.
