Abstract

The present work aims to analyze the debt renegotiation program, called Desenrola Brasil, which was implemented on July 17, 2023, which aims to restore the regularity of the registration of individuals with the Credit Bureaus and consequently stimulate the economy with the entry of new candidates for credit and heating of domestic consumption in the country. Like any comprehensive public credit policy, it could benefit millions of families by removing their names from restrictive registers and stimulating the economy, as well as eventually causing new indebtedness from uncontrolled access to credit. It is in this dichotomy of scenarios that this study will focus, seeking to discuss the aspects of this very current problem.
