Mandibular bone loss in the posterior region is an aggravating and relatively common factor in a large part of the partially edentulous population. This fact causes several other problems in the health of these individuals and surgery to install dental implants is necessary for the rehabilitation of these patients. Due to bone loss, the surgical course requires greater care and more elaborate reconstructive techniques, as well as bone grafting to restore the volume of the lost bone. Thus, the present work aims to demonstrate the rehabilitation of partially edentulous patients in the posterior region of the mandible with atrophy of the alveolar ridge using the surgical technique of installing osseointegrated implants and bone grafting. Furthermore, it is pertinent to highlight the challenges experienced by patients with bone loss and the impasses in oral rehabilitation aimed at mandibular reconstruction through bone regeneration.
