This article sought to address the use of Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone (GNRH) in bovine reproduction in Fixed Time Artificial Insemination (IATF). The methodology used is a bibliographic review, qualitative, descriptive, deductive method, using the following materials: monographs, articles and theses, as well as searches in the Scielo databases, on the Capes platform and Google Scholar. The results demonstrated that the use of GNRH in TAI occurs in many properties that operate in the Brazilian livestock sector and is an effective technique in increasing the pregnancy rate of cattle, however, the probable risks involving the technique must be considered. . It is concluded that the application of GNRH in IATF is a method that presents good effectiveness in animal production, the method aims to improve the pregnancy rate, but it is necessary to take into account that the effects may be related to multiple factors, among They are: the skill of the professional, the breed of the animals, reproductive management, genetics, nutrition and age. Certain side effects may occur, such as the occurrence of heat in periods different from those desired, heifers may present ovarian cysts, among others. Therefore, it is essential that advances continue to be made in the area of biotechnology in the field of bovine reproduction.
