This article discusses the normative situation of women in relation to the desire to obtain the status of insured in light of the principle of equality. To this end, the concepts of intersectionality, legal content of the principle of equality, as well as those relating to the social security legal system operationalized in today's legislative context and in doctrinal sources are mobilized. It aims to problematize and highlight remnants of the patriarchal system present in current Social Security Law. Bibliographic-exploratory methodological perspectives are combined to consult and review literature associated with the documentary research technique. It is understood that rural workers encounter legal, factual and evaluative obstacles to the realization of their fundamental rights, mainly due to the lack of valuation and recognition of their work, an issue in relation to which this article intends to provide theoretical-analytical and interdisciplinary contributions. The results are expected to reveal gender patterns, identify barriers to access to justice and provide elements for public policies and may contribute to institutional improvements. Furthermore, this article has the potential to enrich academic literature, promote practical changes and expand dialogue on the principle of equality and gender.
