This work analyzes the representation of rape in Margaret Atwood's "The Handmaid's Tale", establishing a critical parallel with sexual violence against women in Brazil. Using an interdisciplinary approach between law and literature, the study aims to develop a critical stance in relation to understanding submission and inequality in the judicial treatment of rape victims, a problem deeply rooted in the history of Brazil. Through the interface between law and literature, it is hoped that this research can serve as an instrument for awareness and change, addressing a sensitive and crucial issue in our society, the blaming of rape victims.
