Abstract

Rural Education involves offering education in rural areas, considering the particularities and needs of agricultural communities. Reading and writing are fundamental in this context, but they face specific challenges, such as distance from schools, limited resources and cultural diversity. To promote literacy in these areas, it is crucial to adopt approaches that value textual genres, connect traditional knowledge with school content and take students' realities into account. This can be done through contextualized pedagogical practices, which use relevant teaching materials and encourage the active participation of communities in the educational process. Technologies can also be allies, allowing access to educational content even in remote locations. Furthermore, teacher training is essential so that they can develop appropriate methodologies that are sensitive to the reality of the field, strengthening education and the appreciation of reading and writing in this context.
