The objective of this article is to report on the observation of an internship in Health Psychology carried out in a psychosocial support clinic in the city of Curitiba, Paraná. 20 hours of participant observations were carried out at the aforementioned clinic. The internship site has a multidisciplinary team that meets the diverse demands that arise there, for example, people with mental disorders, Autism, Bipolar, Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity, among others. Currently, in the health area, the DSM 5 (Diagnostic and Statistical manual of Mental Disorders) created by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) is used to standardize the diagnostic criteria for disorders that affect the mind and emotions and the ICD (International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems). This internship was of great value for a greater understanding of comorbidities and their manifestations, where it was possible to observe and have the possibility of living with these people affected by physical, mental and social illnesses and, as a result, develop greater empathy, understanding and respect for them.
