This article aims to demonstrate the importance of teaching Constitutional Law in high school, proposing the inclusion of the subject in the curriculum. The point of view is indisputable that citizens, transitioning into adulthood, should have access to content that provides them with knowledge of their rights, duties and constitutional guarantees. Taking the basic teaching of Law to regular school students represents the path to citizenship and awareness. The article discusses education as a constitutional guarantee, defends the inclusion of legal education in the secondary school curriculum, bringing out the positive aspects of the proposal. As for the methodology applied, the study used the type of research with a qualitative approach with an investigation of a bibliographic and documentary nature, analysis of bills and current legislation. The proposal that the basic concepts of law be included in the educational curriculum seems relevant, coherent and appropriate, since legal education would be indispensable at the basic level for the exercise of citizenship and the formation of more conscious, critical and participatory citizens in society.
