This thesis investigates the crucial role of physiotherapy in the care of women diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). The study provides a comprehensive review of the scientific literature on SLE, focusing specifically on the physical and emotional challenges faced by women affected by this complex autoimmune condition. Exploring musculoskeletal symptoms, chronic fatigue, and the psychosocial effects of SLE, the work highlights the need for a multidisciplinary approach that includes physiotherapy. The research examines the various physiotherapeutic methods used to improve the quality of life of women with SLE. This includes adapted exercise therapies, relaxation techniques, pain management, and strategies for coping with fatigue. Additionally, the thesis investigates the positive impact of emotional and educational support provided by physiotherapists in the treatment process for SLE patients. The results indicate that physiotherapy plays a vital role in reducing pain, improving mobility, and increasing the functional independence of women with SLE. By recognizing the significant benefits of physiotherapy and effectively integrating it into treatment plans, it is possible to enhance the quality of life and well-being of these patients, enabling them to face the challenges of SLE with greater resilience and optimism.
