Abstract

Humanization in physiotherapeutic care aims to promote a more welcoming, empathetic and respectful approach to the patient, considering their needs and particularities, as the physiotherapist within an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides support and intensive treatment, proposing continuous monitoring, surveillance by 24 hours, specific equipment, in addition to other technologies aimed at diagnosis and dressing. Under the care of a multidisciplinary team for critically ill patients, the physiotherapist is involved in different stages of intensive treatment, from recovery of the clinical condition to the prevention of other complications. This article aimed to present the importance of humanized care in physiotherapeutic care in the Intensive Care Unit. This article was carried out through bibliographic analysis whose databases were SciELO, LILACS and electronic journal, using the following keywords: “humanization in care”, “Intensive Care Unit”, “physiotherapist”, “severe patients”. 25 (twenty-five) articles were selected, but only 15 (fifteen) met the inclusion criteria (being original, in Portuguese and English, published in the last 10 years), and of these, only 6 (six) articles were selected. cited directly. Humanization in physiotherapeutic care in the Intensive Care Unit is a practice that contributes to the reduction of critical patients. In short, it is important that physiotherapists are trained and sensitized to adopt a more humanized and patient-centered approach, considering their needs and particularities. With this, it will be possible to promote more comprehensive and humanized health, which respects the dignity and rights of patients.
