Physiotherapy is a science that operates at all levels of health care, being present in basic, medium and high complexity care. An interdisciplinary team is capable of offering qualified care in the health-disease process. Physiotherapists have diverse responsibilities within the primary care setting (PHC), playing an important role in the practice environment. This article aimed to carry out a literature review on physiotherapy without borders. To prepare the article, a bibliographical survey was carried out and 16 articles were selected to construct the content of this research, as they met the established inclusion criteria. The inclusion of physiotherapists in healthcare services in PHC becomes possible due to the expansion of the role of physiotherapy in advanced practice. There are several philanthropic NGOs that have the common objective of providing assistance to communities that lack access to healthcare. In Tanzania, there is an NGO called Acts Of Life. Within this NGO there is a project called Physiotherapy Without Borders, which aims to develop activities that generate quality of life for everyone. It is concluded that the role of physiotherapy in PHC actions is of utmost importance for promoting health for individuals who, for some reason, lack access to health units. However, the number of studies that report the role of physiotherapy is scarce, therefore, it is necessary to carry out more studies related to its role in primary care and more reports on physiotherapy without borders
