Abstract

The main objective of the article is to analyze the impact of the pandemic on the Brazilian prison system and the specific objectives of understanding how to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, analyzing the consequences of the pandemic on the system and presenting suggestions for solving the problem. The current situation of public policies regarding legal aspects involving fundamental rights and human dignity. Considering the serious problem faced by public authorities during the pandemic period, bearing in mind that everyone has the right to a dignified life, even those who are deprived of their freedom, even more so in a totally inhumane prison system, it is clear how important it is to causes the state to promote new alternatives to solve the problem. Normative aspects of the Public Power to propose emergency actions in the face of the pandemic situation in relation to the new coronavirus (Covid-19) and in the implementation of actions that guarantee effectiveness in the prevention, treatment and non-spread of the virus within the recognized and deficient Brazilian prison system. Finally, through bibliographical research, from this perspective, the normative affirmation of fundamental rights that reach the person deprived of liberty and the actions that the public authorities have taken for their effective implementation are analyzed.
