Abstract

This article seeks to propose an allegorical and, therefore, hermeneutic reading of the work by Rodrigo Rey Rosa, El País de Toó, published by the Alfaguara publishing house in 2018 based on Benjamin Baroque thought and also current on the discussion proposed in the book The Origin of German Tragic Drama regarding the relationship between history and allegory. We read this text by Rey Rosa from the construction of Benjamin's thought in which the political past and present are inherent, thus making it impossible to speak of one without the other.
