The aging of the population represents one of the most prominent challenges of recent decades. Although old age is not synonymous with illness, this aging process triggers a series of physiological changes that affect different systems of the human body, posing risks of functional impairments and a decrease in quality of life. Diverse activities, such as senior dance, have been adopted as an approach to ensure an improvement in the quality of life and functionality of seniors. This study is a narrative literature review aimed at addressing senior dance as a physiotherapeutic protocol. The articles were accessed through databases and were published between 2016 and 2023. Only 17 articles were selected. According to the conducted study, it is concluded that Senior Dance is an effective alternative to enhance the quality of life, allowing seniors to explore their physical abilities and emotions, making it a valuable intervention in promoting well-being in old age.
