In this work we will talk about the conscious use of paracetamol, when used correctly they are essential for prevention, diagnosis, treatment of pathologies and control of signs and symptoms. However, when used incorrectly without a medical or pharmaceutical prescription, they can be harmful to health, causing kidney, heart, liver failure or even death. This practice is classified as reckless use of medications. The main objective of this study is to alert the population in general about the possible risks of self-medication, and the role of the pharmaceutical professional providing pharmaceutical care along with actions that raise awareness among the population, thus minimizing and relieving the health system of problems of low significance. To carry out this research, bibliographical reviews were carried out considering original articles that addressed self-medication, irrational use of Paracetamol and Pharmaceutical Assistance.
