Vaccination is the most effective strategy for preventing a communicable disease, however, coverage of several vaccines has been reduced, for reasons such as vaccine hesitancy, forgetfulness, fake news about vaccines, among others. Immunization is a human right and a key element of primary health care, however, despite the success of immunizations over the years, recent data demonstrate a reduction in the demand for vaccines, especially those recommended during childhood. Evaluating the different authors, it can be concluded that the reduction in vaccination coverage is problematic for collective health, causing the spread of already considered diseases and the resurgence of eradicated diseases, causing damage or death, especially in children. Therefore, it becomes essential on the part of different health agents, governments, health workers, social control, educational entities, a union of forces to empower the population, and assist in deconstructing myths related to vaccination.
