THE WORK OF THE SOCIAL WORKER IN PUBLIC HEALTH

Abstract

The aforementioned aims to highlight how the work of Social Workers in the health area is carried out. The main important results found in the research consist of the diversity of demands that Social Workers deal with in their daily professional lives, with the Service's commitment being the search for quality and universality of health services, as well as guaranteeing access to health through the expansion of public spaces. From this perspective, the direction of the Social Worker's work was identified, reproduced in the principles of the professional ethical-political project, as well as the principles that drive the Health Reform Movement. In this sense, we conclude that there is a deprivation of theoretical productions on the subject, demonstrating the need for studies and research on the work of Social Workers in the health sector.
