Abstract

The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is essential at any construction site to ensure the safety and physical integrity of workers. The construction sector is one of the most risky in terms of occupational safety, it is necessary that the rules in force are fully complied with. PPE is recommended to be the last level of defense to prevent occupational injuries, illnesses and deaths, but some companies combine it with other control measures to ensure a safe and healthy environment for their workers. Currently, there are several types of elements, within the world of construction. The proper use of appropriate equipment contributes to economy, quality, safety, speed and punctuality in project completion. Construction equipment is an important part of any advanced industrial process. However, it is necessary to emphasize that the responsibility of each individual is fundamental for the prevention of accidents. However, incidents are known to happen, so the employer must be prepared to avoid fatal consequences or permanent damage to their employees. Based on this premise, the work will briefly report on the types of PPE, their importance, resistance and inspection (Regulatory Standards), through a literature review.
