PHYSIOTHERAPY IN THE REHABILITATION OF FEMUR FRACTURE IN THE ELDERLY: INTEGRATIVE REVIEW

The study aims to present the main physiotherapeutic techniques used in the rehabilitation of femur fractures in the elderly, in addition to exposing the benefits of early rehabilitation. This is an integrative literature review study with descriptive characteristics. To choose the articles, the inclusion criteria were original articles, literature review, systematic review and meta-analysis, being in Portuguese and English, published in the last 11 years that addressed the proposed theme. Exclusion criteria: duplicate, incomplete articles, outside the time frame and not in Portuguese or English. The present study highlights the importance of physiotherapy in the rehabilitation of femur fractures in elderly people in order to prevent and treat the functional changes that occur due to this trauma. In short, understanding the main physiotherapeutic techniques used in the rehabilitation of femoral fractures in the elderly can be useful to conduct a good assessment, as well as to outline the objectives, so that the procedures can be carried out efficiently and effectively in the treatment in the different phases of the rehabilitation of femur fracture in the elderly.
