Abstract

This study analyzes the increased incidence of obesity in adolescence during the COVID-19 pandemic, with a focus on its relation with mental health. Underlying causes of this increase were examined, highlighting the role of sedentary behavior, changes in dietary habits, and the psychological impact of the pandemic. Applying an integrative literature review methodology, a significant correlation was identified between the rise in adolescent obesity and the risk of developing psychological disorders. The findings emphasize the importance of preventive and intervention measures to face this public health challenge and provide a solid foundation for future research in the field of adolescent health.
