Abstract

The objective of this work is to clarify the following question: What are the advantages of privatizing prisons for improving the penitentiary system in Brazil? He compares the current situation in prisons with the reality of existing privatized prisons. In addition, it addresses the conditions of inmates, since the vast majority of prison institutions in the country require improvements in the areas of employment opportunities for inmates, food and several other factors that, when combined, facilitate the reintegration of inmates into society. . In this context, a new model of collaborative management emerges, in which the State partners with the private sector to create a more constructive and dignified environment for the prison population. The purpose of punishment is reintegration, and through the privatization of prisons, with structural and organizational improvements, it is possible to provide the convicted person with new opportunities, which, in turn, can reduce crime and promote social well-being.
