CLINICAL OUTCOMES OF COMMUNITY PNEUMONIA IN CHILDREN IN BRAZIL: AN INTEGRATIVE REVIEW

Abstract

Objective: to identify in the scientific literature the general clinical characteristics of community-acquired pneumonia in hospitalized children and adolescents. Method: integrative review, whose article eligibility criteria were: correspond to the descriptors: “Pneumonia”; "Child"; “Risk factors”, be a research article; be in Portuguese and English; be available electronically in the VHL (Virtual Health Library) databases and the Scientific Electronic Library onLine (SciELO) data sources and year of publication referring to the period from 2013 to 2023. Results: 10 significant publications were found. The analysis occurred through analytical and interpretative readings. The importance of an effective clinical approach to diagnosis for the effective treatment of pneumonia in children and the factors that affect the quality of life of children and adolescents. Final considerations: Self-care practices and the correct approach to controlling clinical signs and the variety of elements stood out. Descriptors: “Pneumonia”; "Child"; "Risk factors".
