Mothers and fathers often say that being a mother or father is the best and hardest job in the world. Parenting develops and transforms according to the needs, characteristics and desires of children and mothers/fathers, but it can always significantly impact, positively or negatively, the development of children. Taking into account how parenting can negatively impact a child's emotional health, there is a need for more research into their quality of life. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the relationship between parenting and the child's emotional well-being, focusing on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Schema Therapy. Initially, a systematic review of the literature on the topic was carried out, using the descriptors “parenting” and “emotional well-being”. Then, the search was refined to “parenting” and “schema therapy”, including the Google Scholar and Scielo databases. Finally, we hope to understand new parenting strategies for a better quality of life for children.
