Abstract

This article examines the issue of virtual crimes in the Brazilian legal system. With the advancement of information and communication technologies, new forms of crimes that occur in the virtual environment have emerged. The aim of this study is to understand how the Brazilian legal system has addressed these crimes and what legal measures are available to combat them. The article reviews current legislation, which were implemented to specifically deal with cybercrime. In addition, the challenges faced by the legal system in the investigation and punishment of these crimes are discussed, such as the difficulty of identifying cybercriminals and the need for international cooperation to combat transnational crime.
