LGBT population is considered a vulnerable group, which suffers from many forms of violence, discrimination, and significant damage to mental health. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy – CBT presents a theoretical framework based on evidence that proposes the treatment of disorders, relief of suffering and symptoms, and health promotion. The objective of this article was to investigate the contributions of CBT to the treatment and care of the LGBT population. An integrative review was carried out, using the PICO strategy to develop the research question “What are the contributions of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for the LGBT population from 2019 to 2023?”, and through this, a search was carried out in the SciELO, PubMed, MEDLINE, LILACS databases and CAPES journals. As a result, 14 articles were identified, which showed several contributions of CBT for the LGBT population, such as the reduction of depression's symptoms, anxiety, social anxiety, post-traumatic stress, alcohol abuse, reduction of risky sexual behaviors, in addition to an increase in of hope, perception of support, and learning a variety of CBT skills. It is noteworthy that given the evidence identified, and the lack of research carried out in the Brazilian reality, it is essential that studies be developed evaluating the effectiveness of CBT for the LGBT population in the Brazilian context.
