Cerebral palsy is a neurological alteration that affects the central nervous system generating comorbidities: impairment of motor, neurological and social functions, impairing the quality of life of its patients. The main characteristics of Atáxica Cerebral Palsy are: absence of muscle coordination; compromised and reduced tone; gait and trunk ataxia and tremors. Studies show that the most effective form of treatment for reversal and improvement of neurofunctional and motor conditions of patients with cerebral palsy is intervention and early treatment. This treatment was performed through a multidisciplinary team that involves: physiotherapists; psychologists; psychopedagogues; nurses; neurologists among others. Hippotherapy is a therapy that supports the rehabilitation of patients with numerous disorders and special needs, this treatment consists of an educational and integrated therapeutic method that introduces the use of horses as it is biopsychosocial development of patients. Thus, with the objective of deepening the relevance of the physiotherapist's performance for the application of techniques and hippotherapy in patients with cerebral palsy, as well as the importance of this area of study for Physiotherapy in general, this work developed as a partial criterion for approval in the Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy course at The Pythagoras College of Betim.
