THE INFLUENCE OF THE GAME OF CHESS ON SCHOOL PERFORMANCE IN FIRST YEAR CLASSES OF REGULAR HIGH SCHOOL

The research presented is based on the subject of Physical Education. The general objective of this study is to design an interdisciplinary pedagogical intervention based on the Chess Game, in the 1st year classes of Regular High School, as an educational sports tool, with the expectations of improving school performance and with specific objectives of identifying performance problems and student indiscipline. The research was carried out in stages: with a theoretical foundation on the relationship between General Games and the Chess Game with Physical Education, school performance and indiscipline, interdisciplinarity and the implementation of technology in the educational sports context. In the results obtained, we can demonstrate positive aspects regarding the evolution of school performance. It is concluded that the use of an educational sports action plan is very useful to motivate studies and create a more harmonious environment in the teaching-learning process.
