ANXIETY AND AGGRESSION IN ADOLESCENTS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Introduction: Symptoms of anxiety and aggression have been taking on a greater proportion worldwide, receiving more and more attention regarding the mental health of adolescents. Objective: To investigate the levels of anxiety and aggression of adolescents during the Covid-19 pandemic. Method: The study is characterized as a survey study. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires applied to 60 adolescents. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics. Results: Girls showed a higher prevalence of anxious symptoms in the Civic Military High School, while boys showed a higher prevalence in anxiety and aggressiveness symptoms in the Public High School. It can be verified that the levels of hostility are considered high in both institutions, but the anger factor stands out, predominant in girls, while physical aggression was predominant in boys. Conclusion: Adolescents showed high levels of anxiety and aggression during the Covid-19 pandemic period, thus highlighting the importance of developing studies and actions aimed at the mental health of adolescents.
