Violence against teachers in Brazilian schools is a worrying problem that has significant impacts on the lives of educators and on the educational system as a whole. This study analyzed the determinants and consequences of this violence. The determinants of violence against teachers involve a combination of individual, family, social and institutional factors. Low recognition and devaluation of the teaching profession, lack of institutional support, dysfunctional family contexts and social problems are some of the factors that contribute to the occurrence of this phenomenon. The consequences of violence against teachers are diverse and cover different aspects. Teachers who are victims of violence can suffer physical and emotional damage, in addition to facing difficulties in the exercise of their profession. Violence also impacts the education system, resulting in a negative school climate, a drop in teaching quality, and difficulties in retaining teachers. To deal with this problem, it is necessary to implement effective preventive and intervention measures. This involves creating safe and welcoming school environments, strengthening institutional support for teachers, and valuing the teaching profession. Furthermore, it is important to promote partnerships with the community and invest in research that fills the existing gaps in this area.
