Low back pains are becoming more and more frequent in the population nowadays, requiring greater body control and needing more muscle strength to support the new postures loved in everyday life. aiming to demonstrate the effects of segmental stabilization in patients with lumbosciatic pain, through the literature of scientific articles from the last ten years using PubMed, SciELO and Google Scholar data platforms. Articles from clinical trials, randomized or not, observational or experimental studies, whose treatment involved segmental stabilization in lumbosciatic pain were included, excluding studies prior to 2013, review and duplicate articles. the resulted in 3 articles to compose this research, which compared segmental stabilization with techniques such as electrostimulation, McKenzie and Breathing Exercises, where the authors evidenced and corroborated the use of the segmental stabilization technique as a treatment for lumbosciatic pain. it can be concluded that the use of lumbar segmental stabilization in patients with lumbar sciatic pain showed satisfactory effects in terms of pain reduction and functional disability.
