Resumen

The article in question addresses the shared custody of pets in multispecies families and its legal and social aspects in the dissolution of the marital bond. Considering, the significant increase in the number of families that have pets and that experience the dissolution of the marital bond, brings the need to discuss the legal and social aspects involved in this context, requiring an analysis about the historical evolution of the affective relationship between the man and the animal and the legal issues involving the shared custody of pets. With this, the objective is to analyze the legal effects and the possibility of shared custody for domestic animals in multispecies families in the dissolution of the marital bond. Starting from the hypothesis that shared custody can be a viable alternative to minimize the negative effects on the lives of animals and their guardians, this work will be developed from bibliographical research in which books, scientific articles and jurisprudence on the subject will be used as sources. theme, to analyze the Brazilian legislation, as well as the social aspects that permeate the relationship between pets and their guardians.
