Abstract

Menopause is a stage of the female life cycle that may be associated with physical, emotional, cognitive, and social changes, affecting women’s quality of life. In this context, Primary Health Care represents a strategic setting for health promotion, health education, and longitudinal follow-up. This study aimed to synthesize scientific evidence on educational actions developed by nursing professionals in Primary Health Care and their contributions to health promotion and quality of life among women during the climacteric and menopause. This is an integrative literature review with a qualitative and descriptive approach, structured according to the PICO strategy. Searches were conducted in the BVS, PubMed/MEDLINE, SciELO, and CAPES Periodicals Portal databases, using DeCS and MeSH descriptors combined with Boolean operators. A total of 142 records were identified, of which 20 studies composed the final sample. Thematic analysis allowed the findings to be organized into three categories: nursing actions for health promotion; educational practices directed toward women during the climacteric; and the impacts of physical and psychological symptoms on quality of life. The results highlight the relevance of nursing care through welcoming, guidance, health education, and continuous follow-up, although limitations related to professional training and health service organization remain. It is concluded that strengthening educational actions and longitudinal follow-up may contribute to more comprehensive, humanized, and women-centered care during menopause.
