Abstract

This article aimed to report the authors' experience integrating artificial intelligence with gamification—using the Kahoot platform—as a pedagogical strategy in the Family Health course within the undergraduate Nursing program. This is an experience report based on activities conducted during the first semester of 2026, involving the use of artificial intelligence to generate questions for five gamified activities held at the end of classes. The AI-generated questions were analyzed, selected, and adapted by the instructors to align with the course content and the students' knowledge level. The experience highlighted benefits regarding student engagement and participation, peer cooperation, and content review, while also facilitating instructor mediation in the use of artificial intelligence. Key considerations included the need to review AI-generated questions, the limited time allowed for answering, and the reliance on electronic devices, internet connectivity, and platform functionality. The study concludes that integrating artificial intelligence and gamification is a viable pedagogical strategy for nursing education, provided it is accompanied by instructor mediation and proper planning of technological requirements.
